This week we had the opportunity to speak at the Clarington Board of Trade's Economic Summit to share some of the innovations that we have created within our community. Investing in our neighborhoods, and fellow residents has always been a core value of ours. Our company was founded in Durham Region over 40 years ago, and our contributions to the region have remained strong.
The theme of the summit was Exploring Opportunities with Emerging Industries. Though we covered many topics of interest in our research and development, one highlight was sharing our up and coming release of the LightCard™ light bulb. It is of utmost importance to us to contribute to the betterment of our community. The LightCard™ light bulb has the ability to reduce carbon emissions, the release of mercury into our atmosphere, and the waste contribution to our landfills. All with a single bulb.
Additionally, we were able to discuss our advances in recycling technology. We have partnered with our local waste facility to produce viable products, using mixed plastics 3-7 that would not otherwise be economically recycled. This partnership will allow our municipality to improve their facilities capacity, reduce the waste that ends up in our landfills, and lead the way in improving the circular economy.
One of our primary goals in our research and developments is to make technology and the products that we create affordable, and environmentally sustainable. Reducing carbon emissions, rethinking energy output, and reusing post-consumer plastic materials are just a few ways that we have proven we can do so with these two innovations.
